What Is the Love of God?

Love is defined by Webster as “affection based on admiration, benevolence, or common interests.”

1 John 5:3 (KJV) defines it as “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”

1 Corinthians 13 is one of the most common scriptures quoted about love but the Holy Spirit had revealed more facets to it. If we keep God’s commands, the fruits of the spirit fall in line. This is why we need Jesus. We won’t always get it right but his sacrifice allows us to repent and return to the straight and narrow path.

John 8:12 KJV

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
